It’s All About Voice: Writing Memoir That Readers Will Love, Buy, & Recommend”

with Lisa Dale Norton

Workshop Description:

In this workshop you will learn how to write memoir that grabs readers and makes them fall in love with your book. It’s all about voice, the persona you bring to the page. There are obvious dos and don’ts, and we’ll talk about those, but we’ll focus on teasing out your way of perceiving the world and using those strengths to create a singular voice.

(Hint: The trick is figuring out if you are a closet essayist or a closet fiction writer!) We’ll explore key strategies for shaping voice: authenticity, compassion, language choices, and casting yourself as the hero or heroine of your story.
